Waiting for Proof

I'm just waiting for the day when I can see all the evidence we are safer because of the war in Iraq than before 9/11. There seems to be a lot of evidence to the contrary, and the only argument the protagonists can seem to grasp is: "We haven't been attacked since 9/11." Great. President Bush set the bar so low that the only way to prove to rank and file Republicans that the Iraq war is a failure and not making us safer is by suffering a more awful attack than the worst attack on United States soil ever.

I have no doubt that Congress will successfully solve the massive problems of the Iraq war, education, illegal immigration, the housing crisis, the dollar plunge, spiking oil prices....

but let's not get too hasty. There are other virtual problems Congress needs to deal with!
